The 100th of 206 built to celebrate Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary, Centennial Edition ZR1 only just under 1,500 on the LS9.

Back in the 2012 model year, Chevrolet wanted to celebrate its 100th anniversary in a big way. Thus, it took the biggest and baddest Corvette on the block – the ZR1 – dressed it up for the occasion, and knocked out 206 copies for sale. The result? The 2012 Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition.

Fittingly, the 100th Centennial Edition ZR1 is on its way to cross the red carpet at Mecum Auction’s mid-March 2022 extravaganza in Glendale, Arizona, one of a handful of Corvettes from Michael Brown’s “Hooked on Vettes Collection.”

This Centennial Edition ZR1 worked its way through Bowling Green on August 19, 2011 before landing in Brown’s collection of Corvettes. The ‘Vette is one of a few in the collection with under 3,000 miles on the odometer, and one of 13 set to cross the red carpet. Brown became a fan of Corvettes soon after seeing the ’63 hit showrooms for the first time. In 1985, he started his collection, which would include a ’63 coupe.

The 100th Centennial Edition ZR1’s supercharged LS9 and six-speed manual delivered 638 horsepower to the road. Yet, those ponies didn’t gallop far over the past 10 years, logging just 1,494 miles. With the love and care Brown gave this ‘Vette, though, it’s more than ready to knock out a few thousand more in the next decade.

Inside and out, the Centennial Edition ZR1’s Carbon Flash body and gray Alcantara interior is adorned with special logos commemorating Chevy’s major milestone. Other amenities include heated seats, satnav, AM/FM stereo, and lots of carbon fiber trim. Not to mention a front-row seat to experience the LS9’s might on the open road.

Back in 2012, the Centennial Edition ZR1 sold for $130,000. Today, that’s nearly $158,000, enough to net a C8 3LT Convertible with the Z51 package, plus change left for mods. This one won’t be the first to cross the red carpet of Mecum either. Back in 2020 in Indianapolis, one Centennial Edition crosses the block for $102,300. A handful of others landed between $65,000 and $75,000 between 2017 and 2020. Where will this one fall? Only the winning bidder will know for certain come mid-March 2022.
