The Corvette world went through a lot in 2021. We were there to bring it all to you, including the readership’s top 10 most-read posts.

What a year 2021 has been, right? Corvette fans had plenty to celebrate and bemoan this year, for sure, from the reveal of the 2023 Z06, to the ongoing chip shortage throwing everything out of whack.

Now that 2022 is upon us, though, it’s the perfect time to look back on this year in Corvette history. Thus, we at Corvette Forum present to you your top 10 most-read posts of 2021.

10. C8 Corvette Owner Wrecks Car ONE DAY Before Selling It

Wrecked C8 Corvette

It feels like more than a few C8 Corvette owners keep their rides for a brief time before flipping it back on the market. Alas, this seller took flipping literally when he took his C8 out for a last ride before selling it to its next owner. The lesson? Keep your sold ride parked until the new owner picks it up.

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The C8 Z06 won’t enter production until the summer of 2022, yet dealers are already marking up the hottest C8 ‘Vette yet. Our forum members revealed who all were looking for some extra green, and how much they wanted on top of the sticker. Of course, we know which dealers won’t charge all the arms and legs for the Z06.

8. Here’s What One Week of C8 Deliveries Looks Like at America’s Biggest Dealer

One of those dealers, of course, is Kerbeck Chevrolet. We spoke to Kerbeck’s Corvette Manager, Dave Salvatore, in January about the popularity of the C8 Corvette, as well as the ordering and delivery experience at the No. 1 Corvette dealership in the United States.

C8 Corvette Convertible LT2 Broken Valve Spring

As is always the case with the latest generation of America’s sports car, the first year or two is always the roughest. Michael Crummer didn’t expect his C8 Convertible to be this rough, though. Only 57 miles were put on the LT2 V8 before its valve springs decided to break, leading to a bent valve. Being the first on the block can be a double-edged sword, indeed.

6. C8 Corvette Z06 Delayed Until 2023 Model Year, According to New Report

2023 Corvette Z06

Back in June, we learned the C8 Z06 wouldn’t come out until 2023. We also reported it wouldn’t debut during the Summer of 2021. The delay in production was, of course, linked to supply chain issues exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. As for the debut, though, that would thankfully occur in late October.

5. C8 Corvette Takes on Shelby GT500 in Battle of the Stars and Stripes

C8 Corvette vs Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Drag Race

What’s more ‘MURICA than a battle between the Corvette and the Shelby GT500? Throw in English YouTube sensation Tim “Shmee” Burton, Hennessey Performance, and Texas into the mix, and you’ve got the makings for a good time.

4. GM Tech Street Races Customer’s C8 Corvette, Hits 148 MPH on Highway

C8 Corvette Dealership Joy Ride

Our next two spots belong to a story involving a C8 that had gone in for repairs at Fremont Chevrolet, only for a service tech to give their car quite the (unwanted) exercise. The first part of the tale takes the fourth spot, retelling the tale with help of the C8’s Performance Data Recorder logging a top speed of 148 mph by the tech.

The second part of the story takes the third spot in our top 10 posts of 2021. Here, we learn how Fremont Chevrolet made things right for the owner. In short: a new 2022 C8 with all the things the owner wanted, including the seats and front-lift system he couldn’t get on his 2021 ‘Vette. Not a bad deal in the end.

How much will the 2023 Z06 hit the wallet? Thanks to our forum members and YouTube channel Horsepower Obsessed, about $87,000 to start. As this post goes on to note, though, the various trim levels and packages add up very quickly, sending the hot new ‘Vette into the six-figures.

Finally, we conclude our top 10 posts of 2021 list with… another top 10 list. Here, we found the top 10 fastest to 60 mph Corvettes ever built. We’ll likely need to update this list once the newer C8 era ‘Vettes arrive on the scene in the New ’20s and beyond. For now, though, why not see the current holders of the title.
