C8 Corvette Z06 Pricing Could Still Land Under $100k, Hints GM Official
C8 Corvette Z06 pricing remains a mystery, but a GM official recently gave us a solid hint as to what we can expect.
When the 2023 Z06 was revealed recently, we learned just about everything there is to know about the latest version of the ultimate track-focused Corvette. One thing that GM hasn’t yet disclosed, of course, is C8 Corvette Z06 pricing, which has been the subject of many rumors in recent weeks. Now, we’ve received a bit of a clue from Corvette and Camaro marketing manager Harlan Charles himself, who recently spoke a little about the subject while being interviewed on the Corvette Today Podcast.
“The pricing will be announced soon,” Harlan said, according to a transcription of the podcast by Corvette Blogger. “We do not have it all finalized out yet, but we are telling people basically if you are used to comparing the previous generation Stingray to the Z06, base to base pricing, it shouldn’t be something you don’t expect.”
This is pretty much what most have been expecting to see – a gap between the base Stingray and C8 Corvette Z06 pricing that’s in line with what we’ve seen in previous generations. Throughout the life of the C7, the Z06 started out at around $80,000 compared to $55,000 for the Stingray when it was first introduced and later grew just a bit, but the difference between these two Corvettes generally ranged between $24,000 and $27,000.
The 2022 Corvette Stingray’s base price is $62,195, which means that if we apply this math here, the 2023 Z06 would come in at somewhere around $86k-$89k. That seems wholly reasonable, though it’s also possible that in a world with major supply chain issues and a healthy amount of inflation pushing the prices of consumer goods ever higher, the Z06 will ultimately retail for more than that.
Regardless, a sub-$100k price tag would help the 2023 Z06 retain the Corvette’s title as a budget sports car, one that’s capable of beating pricier, more exotic machines around the track. And we imagine that when GM does unveil the latest Z06’s price in the coming weeks or months, it will land short of six figures.
