The 2021 SEMA Show is dominated by custom C8 Corvette builds that cover the entire spectrum of styles.
With the 2021 SEMA Show in full swing, there’s been plenty of Corvette action to soak in. That includes, of course, the amazing new 2023 Corvette Z06, a handful of killer older builds, some new active aero for the C8, and plenty of new go-fast goodies for America’s sports car. As one might imagine, there are also tons of custom C8 Corvettes on display at the 2021 SEMA Show, and Holley managed to capture every single one of them on film.
That’s no small feat, given the sheer number of C8s parked inside and outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, but since last year’s SEMA Show was canceled due to the pandemic, this comes as no surprise. After all, the C8 was and still is perhaps the hottest performance vehicle on the market, even as it enters its third year of production.
Couple that with the fact that the C8 is a radical departure from every previous generation as a mid-engine exotic of sorts, and it’s no surprise the aftermarket is hot for the latest Corvette. Owners are also seeking out performance and visual upgrades for the C8, which makes for a giant, profitable hole that’s just waiting to be filled by the automotive aftermarket.
While the C8 is somewhat limited in terms of performance upgrades thanks to its vault-like ECU, that hasn’t stopped numerous companies from developing superchargers, twin-turbo kits, exhaust upgrades, and all sorts of other go-fast goods for it.
Regardless, the bulk of the C8s on this year’s SEMA floor focused more on aesthetics, with countless body kits, wheel designs, functional aero, air suspensions, wraps, custom paint jobs, and race-inspired liveries on display to satisfy the eyeballs. There are certainly many ways to make the new Corvette stand out, and SEMA is concrete proof of that.
Still, this feels like only the beginning for the C8’s already robust amount of aftermarket support. As the years go by and more mid-engine Corvettes wind up in more people’s garages, demand for these parts and accessories will only grow. And that means even more cool custom rides on display at future SEMA shows.
