FuelTech’s twin turbo C8 Corvette epic pass is 8.9-seconds of heaven.

When Chevrolet introduced the mid-engined C8 Corvette, it opened up a world of possibility. It sent a crack of thunder through the automotive industry. And racers, tuners, and–well, everyone–wanted to experience its expanded capability. The 2020 and 2021 C8 Corvette has taken performance to new, dizzying heights on the track.

A new Corvette sparked a new spirit of competition. And it has seen drivers and builders rise to the occasion, and surpass expectation. One of the major players on the quarter-mile is FuelTech. Recently, FuelTech won big in a record-breaking pass busting through the 8s. It is awesome; and Torque Tuesday perfection.

Anderson Dick piloted the Corvette at Orlando Speed World to a record-breaking 8.973 at 160.9 mph! The savage 1,350 WHP beast easily beat their previous best of 9.01 at 153 mph.

But Dick and his team have worked hard to get here. And that tension is palpable in the video.

They really hit the spot with the current set up. Two Garrett G35-900 turbochargers brought the heat. But the system employs engine management systems to work with the PCM to give necessary power and control. One issue that the crew was tasked with was to find an effective way to work around to avoid the factory-programmed torque management. A second FuelTech ECU was installed for drivetrain management. And nitrous air keeps everything cool.

Boosted, race-prepped, and well balanced; the C8 Corvette masterfully delivers serious power.

The turbocharged LT2 is a brute; but it handles so smoothly off the line. In the video we get to experience the run from both in and outside the Corvette.

Watching the pass, you see why Corvette is the GOAT. As the C8 Corvette tears down the track it remains silky smooth, barely breaks a sweat. The level of capability and confidence is pure C8 Corvette.

Congrats to FuelTech on their win. It will be interesting to see who will come for the crown next.
