Brand New 2023 Corvette Crashes Before It Even Gets a Permanent Plate

2023 Corvette Crash

This 2023 Corvette had an unfortunate run-in with some rocks with its temp tag still in place.

Crashes are never something that anyone wants to see happen to nice cars, but alas, there are some fast rides out there that people love to wreck. That group includes the C8 Corvette, which we’ve seen get mangled up, left upside down, split in half, and even sitting in bodies of water on numerous occasions since its launch a couple of years ago. Now, with the 2023 Corvette hitting the streets, somebody has wrecked one of those too, as we can see from these pics of the carnage recently posted by srobert910 in the Corvette Forum.

The incident apparently happened in Austin, Texas, on a road that’s rather curvy – the sort of place the owner of a brand new 2023 Corvette might want to take it out for an enjoyable drive. Heck, the car even has its temp tag still attached it’s so new, and we imagine that given how long it takes to get a new Corvette these days, the new owner was pretty excited to go enjoy it. Unfortunately for them and the car itself, the latter seems to have exceeded the former’s skill level in that regard.

As for the incident itself, it appears to have happened in the Mount Bonnell area of Texas, which runs around Lake Austin and provides some seriously scenic views in a place known for its booming growth in recent years. The 2023 Corvette in these photos had a bit of a run-in with the rocks around this road, seemingly making contact and winding up nearly on its side while traveling down that particular stretch of road.

The front driver’s side portion of the car (heck, the whole driver’s side, really) is smashed up, while the front left wheel has detached itself from the wreckage as well. The damage doesn’t seem to be too horrific, and it also seems as if the occupant(s) are fine, but we can’t imagine the feeling the owner felt when this went down. After all, the paint on this 2023 Corvette was barely dry when this happened, and it’s already staring at a salvage title if the insurance company deems it worth saving.
