Beautifully Restored Big Block C3 Corvette Is the Color of Money

They say green is the color of money, and this gorgeous big block C3 Corvette looks to prove them right.

There’s a saying in the world of used cars that dates back many years, and that’s “green is the color of money.” Whether or not that’s actually true is up for debate, as not everyone loves the color green enough to dish out big bucks to purchase a car finished in that particular hue. Regardless, this beautifully restored British Green big block C3 Corvette certainly looks destined to rake in big bucks when the hammer falls at Bring a Trailer in a few days’ time.

This particular big block C3 Corvette was treated to a body-off restoration just a few years ago and looks no worse for wear today. Its gorgeous exterior hue is nicely complemented by either a white soft top or black hardtop, while all of the chrome has also been replated to perfection. The look is capped off perfectly with a set of 15-inch Rally wheels with polished trim rings and center caps, which are wrapped with redline tires.

The interior is every bit as nice as the exterior, with new vinyl from Al Knoch interiors covering the seats and door panels. There’s also fresh carpet inside, along with a polished shift knob, an AM/FM pushbutton radio, lap belts, crank windows, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Everything in here is factory fresh, save for the currently not working cigarette lighter and clock, which need a bit of attention.

At some point in the late 1980s, a previous owner of this ’68 Corvette removed the original L36 427 V8 and replaced it with a 454, but the numbers-matching engine is back in place today following a complete overhaul. The 390 horsepower motor features a four-barrel carb on top and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Peek inside the engine bay or underneath, and you’ll find nothing but sanitary polished and painted surfaces befitting of a fair-weather cruiser or show car.

This beautiful green Corvette certainly has attracted the attention of eager collectors, racking up a number of bids in just a few days’ time. So at least, in this case, it appears that an old saying might just prove true, as it has many times in the past.
