This 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition is up for grabs now and seeking an owner that will treat it a bit better.
It’s no secret that the illegal drug business is a profitable one, although also a very risky field to work in, too. Aside from the obvious threats of violence, breaking the law also puts you at risk of going to jail, which isn’t really the kind of place you want to spend a long period of time in. Regardless, the rewards of selling drugs cause many to ignore the downsides of doing so, and that’s precisely what led to this 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition winding up in the hands of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, according to the Palm Coast Observer.
It all went down when the owner of the 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Edition fell asleep in the vehicle, which prompted a concerned citizen to call the police to check on him. When law enforcement arrived, the owner took off and wound up running a stop sign, though he pulled over shortly after that. That’s when the police found a large enough quantity of fentanyl in the vehicle that he was arrested for trafficking, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.
“Not only do we close down poison peddler businesses, but we will also seize their vehicles,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in the video below. “We are taking a bite out of criminal profits, and as a result, we are now the proud owners of two vehicles, one which will go to our fleet, and the other which will be auctioned off. Here’s my message to drug dealers – If you don’t want to be on the Sheriff’s High Interest Target list, then I suggest you get the h— out of Flagler County, because we are coming for you next – your profits and your vehicles. Hope you enjoy walking after you are released from the Green Roof Inn!”
That’s obviously bad news for the owner of this Corvette, but it’s also good news for anyone in the market for a new ride, because this seized vehicle is now being auctioned off at GovDeals. All the proceeds from the sale go to public safety initiatives and community engagement in Flagler County, too, so you know that your money is doing a bit of good.
