This 1967 Corvette L71 is a real survivor with loads of documentation and a seriously impressive trophy case.

The Corvette has enjoyed seven decades of excellence thus far, which is a very long time in human years, let alone an impressive streak in the world of the automobile, which is ripe with failure. While many other vehicles have come and gone, the Corvette continues to enjoy rabid popularity for its handsome looks, value, and impressive performance. It’s such an iconic vehicle with such a long history, in fact, that trying to name one as “the best” is a fruitless task sure to conjure up arguments, but many will point to one, in particular – the 1967 Corvette L71 like this stellar example that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.

In the very last year for the beloved C2 generation, the 1967 Corvette L71 helped that model go out with a bang, quite literally. Though various power levels were available, the 435-horsepower, triple-carbed version of the 427 cubic-inch big block stood firmly at the top of the heap, both when it was new and among collectors today.

In that sense, this immaculate Marlboro Maroon example is a truly special car in more ways than one. It’s a true survivor in a world of restored classic Corvettes, and remains in pretty spectacular condition as a result. As such, there is some patina here and there, but not on the outside, which looks essentially brand new save for some discoloration on its Rally wheels.

The same goes for the interior, which is finished in black and truly looks no worse for wear. The engine bay is quite clean, save for the typical flaking paint on the valve covers and a few other minor imperfections, but nothing that would turn us away. In fact, we like to see those sorts of things, personally, because a car can only be original once.

Sold with a bevy of documentation including the original window sticker, Protect-O-Plate, NCRS Confirmation of General Motors Documents, purchase documents, and manufacturer’s literature, this big block C2 has also racked up an impressive array of notable accolades including 2020 NCRS 4-Star and 5-Star Bowtie, 2018 NCRS Top Flight, 2019 Performance Verification, and 2019 Duntov Mark of Excellence awards, as well as 2018 Bloomington Gold Benchmark, OEM, Survivor, and the MCACN Triple Diamond and Gold Concourse awards. And if that doesn’t speak for how cool of a find this car is, well, we’re not sure what would.
