This exquisite Roadster Shop 1966 Corvette coupe could serve as a poster child for the restomod movement.

Corvette restomods are all the rage these days, for obvious reasons – combining some of the best-looking cars ever made with modern mechanicals that make them more fun and reliable at the same time is an appealing combination, after all. In that vein, there are a wide range of Corvette restomods, ranging from milder builds to exquisitely detailed machines that sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars. This Roadster Shop 1966 Corvette up for grabs at Bring a Trailer certainly falls in the latter category, as it’s a truly stunning piece of automotive jewelry that has no flaws to speak of.

For starters, this Roadster Shop 1966 Corvette is downright gorgeous on the outside, covered in perfect black paint with a Stinger hood, widened rear track, side exhaust pipes, and refinished chrome bits and pieces. The finishing touch – and one of the only clues that this is a heavily modified machine – are a set of timeless three-piece 19-inch Forgeline wheels, which are wrapped with meaty Michelin redline tires measuring 255/30 up front and 345/20 in the rear.

Riding on Roadster Shop’s Spec7 chassis, this C2 rides a bit lower than stock, but thoroughly enhances everything about the driving experience, whether that be on-road comfort or outright handling performance. It’s further aided by front and rear sway bars, Penske adjustable coilovers, power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and Baer Extreme monoblock calipers with 14-inch slotted and drilled rotors at all four corners.

The interior isn’t stock either, as it’s been fitted with plenty of fine Nappa leather adorning the headliner, dashboard trim, rear wheel tubs, door panels, and Bolstered Procar seats, as well as a Vintage Air climate-control system, cruise control, a Bluetooth capable aftermarket stereo, an an eight-speaker RE Audio stereo system, an Ididit steering column, and Dakota Digital instrumentation.

Capping off this impressive build is a modern LS376/525 6.2L V8 crate engine, which is equipped with an ASA camshaft, tubular headers, a a custom 3-inch exhaust, and a C&R Racing aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Total output comes in at 525 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a 4L70E four-speed automatic transmission.

Sporting timeless style and thoroughly modern underpinnings, this 1966 Corvette is certainly an enticing piece, and that much has been reflected in the bids, as this fine specimen is already near the six-figure mark as of this writing, with several days to go. But for a car that could serve as a poster child for the restomod movement, that isn’t a huge surprise.
