Big Block 1967 Corvette

This big block 1967 Corvette may not be totally original, but it’ll make one heck of a nice driver for someone.

Though there are many uncertainties in life, there are some things we know to be inevitable – death, taxes, and the fact that big block Corvettes will always be highly sought-after collectible items. It’s hard to deny the appeal of a massively powerful classic like this big block 1967 Corvette, which has GM’s mighty 427 V8 under its Stinger hood, in this case, pumping out a factory-rated 390 horsepower. Regardless, there are some questions floating around this particular auction listing at Bring a Trailer, though this car is too nice to ignore any way you slice it.

Starting on the outside, we’re definitely digging this big block 1967 Corvette convertible’s Maroon paint and white convertible top, as well as its signature side exhaust pipes. The proper 15-inch Rally wheels are present and accounted for as well, though they’re wrapped in an unusual set of 225/60 BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. Judging by the comments, some people love this look while others hate it, but there’s an easy fix if you don’t like it – simply flip the tires around.

The interior of this beautiful ride is finished in a matching shade of white, with a handful of amenities including air conditioning and a Delco push-button AM/FM radio. Like the outside, the interior is in simply fantastic condition, with little wear to note. It certainly looks like a welcome place to sit and rip through the gears, roasting the rear tires at will, if you’re into that sort of thing.

The controversy surrounding this purported numbers-matching car – and its subsequent low number of bids – stems from its powerplant, however. The car is being advertised as numbers-matching, but many believe that the drivetrain may not be original to the car, regardless. One points out that the car’s pad appears to have been restamped, while the tank sheet and trim tag don’t look like they belong to this vehicle, either.

That’s obviously concerning for both the seller, who appears to have been slightly duped when he bought the car, as well as potential buyers. But even if it isn’t 100 percent original, this gorgeous C2 will certainly make a very nice driver for someone, and at the right price, a very appealing one, too.
