With an array of upgrades and E85, this C7 Corvette Z06 is a certified ripper that also makes for a tame daily.

Late Model Racecraft is no stranger to building fast Corvettes – they’ve churned out many of them over the years, mostly via their own upgrade packages that offer different power levels based on consumer preference. One of the more popular cars folks bring to the Texas-based company is the C7 Corvette Z06, an already-powerful machine that obviously responds extremely well to modifications. However, its latest C7 Corvette Z06 build might just be the most impressive to date, as it churned out a cool 900 horsepower to the wheels on the dyno with the stock blower still in place.

In stock form, the C7 Z06 is rated to produce 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque at the crank courtesy of its supercharged 6.2-liter V8, but LMR offers an array of complete packages that can raise that number to anywhere from 750 horsepower to an even 1,000. The latter package requires replacing the stock 1.7-liter blower with a Magnuson 2650 supercharger, but amazingly enough, you can get pretty close to that without resorting to such measures.

That doesn’t mean the blower on this particular car is totally stock, however – rather, LMR CNC ports that unit, and then adds a wide array of upgrades. Those include a complete Stage II camshaft package with a custom ground cam and all the requisite goodies, a cold-air induction kit, a 103mm throttle body, long tube headers, a new supercharger pulley, an upgraded fuel system, and all the other bits and pieces needed to support 900 horsepower.

This particular build also has a larger heat exchanger to help keep things cool underhood, which is a common concern with any supercharged powerplant – particularly the C7 Z06, which is famous for overheating under hard conditions. The only real kicker here is that the 900 hp output was achieved using E85 – though for many, this type of fuel is easily accessible, while in other parts of the country, it might be a bit harder to find.

Even still, this combination still makes over 800 horsepower at the wheels on 93-octane gas, which is plenty for the street. As we can see in the video, the Z06 still runs and drives quite normally when one isn’t laying into it, making it the perfect dual-purpose machine. After all, who doesn’t want a daily with 900 raging ponies underfoot?
