Coolest Thing Made in Kentucky

C8 Corvette Production Bowling Green

The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers has nominated the C8 Corvette as one of four semi-finalists for the Coolest Thing Made in Kentucky. Our beloved Corvette is currently facing off against, and I quote, a “big-ass fan.” And while large fans are certainly a literal way to approach making cool things in Kentucky, anyone who’s ever been to Bowling Green knows the truth. Over 1,300 Americans coming together on a weekly basis to build the greatest sports car in American history along with the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the history of the automobile. Now THAT’S cool.

Webby Awards

Last year, Chevrolet unveiled a marketing campaign for the C8 Corvette Z06 entitled Putting the World on Notice, which included the above 26-minute film of the same name. As a result, the campaign has been nominated for a Webby award for Advertising, Media & PR – Best Launch. Admittedly, the Z06 is a machine that needs little marketing to sell. And yet, Chevrolet and a variety of partners made the eighth generation Z06 launch feel momentous. The most capable track Corvette of all time. The most powerful naturally aspirated V8 of all time. Released in an era where far too many supercars are pivoting away from V8s and from sports cars. And perhaps with a little help from our forum, the Z06 will come out on top again!
