It’s unclear which 2023 Corvette models are affected, nor how many, but it’s something that owners will want to get checked out.

While some other manufacturers have been riddled with recalls in recent years, the C8 Corvette has largely chugged along with few major issues. This is obviously great news for those that either own one or are interested in buying a newer Corvette, because oftentimes, a brand new, from the ground up redesign comes with its own special set of problems. However, GM did make a bit of a snafu recently when it built a select number of 2023 Corvette models with the incorrect suspension calibration, according to GM Authority.

A service update document was reportedly sent to dealers recently outlining this mistake, which pertains to the suspension calibration that the automaker programs into the car’s Electronic Suspension Control Module. However, luckily for both GM and owners, this little issue is reportedly pretty easy to fix – dealers can simply reprogram the Electronic Suspension Control Module with the correct settings for that particular car, and those owners can be on their merry way.

This job requires no physical parts and can be completed in around 18 minutes, while it also takes around 12 minutes to inspect each 2023 Corvette to see if it indeed does have the incorrect settings. Still, not too terrible given the major issues we’ve seen some other newer vehicles suffer through in recent years – or rather, make their owners suffer through.

The only problem here is, it’s unclear which types of 2023 Corvette models are affected, as the dealer update doesn’t list any specifics in that regard. It could pertain to both the base Stingray and/or the Z06, as dealers are being instructed to not only inspect and correct any customer cars that may come in for service or any other reason, but also existing inventory that might be sitting on their lots at the moment.

As such, unlike a typical technical service bulletin or recall, it’s unclear which models are affected by this issue, which is undoubtedly a bit strange. Usually, automakers are able to pinpoint precisely how many vehicles were built with a specific problem, but that isn’t the case here. Thus, those that own a 2023 Corvette will likely want to swing by their dealer next time it’s feasible, just to ensure that it’s programmed correctly.
