This Ferrari-badged C8 Corvette Stingray is either a full-blown con attempt or a hilarious troll job, we just can’t decide which.

From the day it debuted years ago, General Motors has been very open about the fact that the C8 Corvette was heavily inspired by the Ferrari 458, and for good reason – that particular car is one of the finest mid-engine machines ever produced. As a result, the C8 Stingray is an amazing performance bargain, one that looks and performs like a supercar with a far higher price tag. However, it seems as if at least one person out there isn’t exactly proud of the badges on their C8 Corvette Stingray, because they replaced all of them with Ferrari pieces.

This somewhat audacious, mis-badged C8 Corvette Stingray was spotted in the wild by a user at Ferrari Chat recently, which they promptly shared with Motor1, and it’s truly a spectacle (train wreck?) worth taking a closer look at. What’s particularly interesting about this “build” is the fact that it doesn’t feature any wild modifications like some widebody kit, a Ferrari-like front fascia conversion, or even a set of aftermarket wheels – rather, it’s mostly just a stock, run of the mill C8 Corvette Stingray.

That is, until you take a closer look beyond the factory blue paint and twin yellow stripes, which is when things start to get weird. Peek at the rear, and you’ll find a Ferrari script badge on the hatch, which leads into a prancing horse present on the rear fascia right above the license plate – which is a dealer plate, notably. Heck, even the engine cover has a Ferrari badge, which is pretty hilarious, we must admit – after all, there’s nothing remotely exotic or Italian about a good old fashioned American V8 like the LT2.

The abominations don’t stop there, however, because this Stingray also has prancing horse center caps on its wheels, along with Ferrari written on the yellow brake calipers. According to the folks in the forums, this theme carries over to the inside, where the Corvette features yellow seats with Ferrari stitching, too. As for why someone would commit such a travesty, well, we have two theories – one, this is a full-blown attempt at fooling people into thinking that this Corvette is actually a Ferrari, or two, it’s perhaps one of the most epic troll jobs we’ve ever seen. Given the reactions it has elicited from Ferrari fans thus far, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the latter.
