This is only the second time we’ve seen the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R testing since its debut earlier this year.

We’ve know that a new racing version of the new C8 Corvette Z06 has been in development for some time now, with GM even showing off some renderings of what we can expect from the forthcoming GT3.R racer – as well as a scant few details. Designed for GT3 racing, the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R will debut in the 2024 season, so GM has a decent amount of time left to fine tune its latest motorsports entry, and that seems to be precisely what they’re doing. In fact, Corvette Blogger recently secured footage of the Z06 GT3.R at Sebring International Raceway in Florida, where it shared the track with Hendrick Motorsport’s Garage 56 Le Mans racer as well.

This is just the second time that the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R has been spotted out and about, with the last sighting coming back in October at GM’s own Milford Proving Grounds. Now that the automaker has moved onto the next phase of the testing process, we get to lay eyes on the race car once again, and it sounds simply amazing as it darts around the track, though with heavy camo, it’s hard to get a bead on exactly what it looks like, of course, even though GM has essentially shown us that already.

Regardless, we do know a few things about this future racer – chiefly among them, the fact that it’s based on the road-going Z06 and will also be powered by the same 5.5-liter V8, albeit with some modifications, which is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission in this case. Horsepower is expected to land somewhere between 500-600 – a bit less than the street legal version – but the Z06 GT3.R will also likely weigh a lot less with its stripped-down nature and carbon fiber body panels.

Though it will ultimately be available for both amateur and professional racers, the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R will also be extremely limited, at least in its first couple of years of production. For 2024, GM plans on making just 10 of them, with 10 more following in 2025 to satisfy homologation requirements. Regardless, the new racer is set to make its track debut in 2024 at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona, but there’s obviously much, much more to come.
