2023 Corvette Z06 Takes on Ferrari LaFerrari, 458 in Epic Series of Drag Races

In its latest underdog matchup, the 2023 Corvette Z06 lines up against a car that inspired it and a multi-million dollar legend.

These days, we have plenty of 2023 Corvette Z06 content to indulge in, with more than a few owners keen to take their cars out to the track and show just what it’s capable of. This is obviously nice to see in a world where many buyers of cars like this tend to simply flip them or keep them stored away with an eye toward the future, and few have been so keen to race their cars as Brooks Weisblat of the Drag Times YouTube channel. We’ve already seen Weisblat line up against all sorts of exotic machines in his 2023 Corvette Z06, but none of those races can compare to this latest outing.

In this new video, we get to see Weisblat head out to hypercar heaven, or rather, to see the folks behind the famed Triple F Collection of amazing cars. There’s a 458 Spyder that catches his eye first, but then again, there’s also a Ferrari LaFerrari sitting there, which makes for one heck of an enticing opponent. After all, it is one of the greatest hypercars ever conceived, packing a hybrid-assisted 950 horsepower V12 underhood and a price tag well north of a million bucks – not to mention a current value of around four million.

Prior to that epic showdown, we get to watch the 2023 Corvette Z06 line up against the 458 Spyder, which is stock and packing a 4.5-liter V8 generating 562 horsepower – quite a bit less than the souped-up C8 at 670, though it does weigh around 300 pounds less. Regardless, as one might imagine, the Z06 makes absolute mincemeat of the 458, jumping ahead of it right off the line and continuing to pull away until it reaches the finish line.

Thus, it’s time to bring out the big guns for a matchup that seems like it will result in a sure loss for the latest and greatest Z06 – at least on paper. The Z06 actually takes advantage of some issues with the pricey hypercar and takes one win out of three, and nearly two, though the LaFerrari ultimately uses its power advantage to reel the Corvette in and claim two out of three victories. Still, it’s a truly impressive performance by the 2023 Corvette Z06 yet again, which is becoming a bit of a trend these days.
