Every day, this veteran has admired a nurse’s C7 Corvette convertible, and she finally got to take a ride in it.

For many, owning a Corvette is a life-long dream, one that many eventually fulfill -even if it’s a lot later in life than they expected. However, for others, Corvette ownership is merely a pipe dream, something that they either can’t do for whatever reason, or perhaps it just doesn’t seem feasible. Regardless, there’s just something about America’s sports car that sticks with you and ignites a little fire inside many of us, and that certainly seems to be the case with a World War II veteran named Marian, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday by taking a ride in a C7 Corvette convertible.

Marian currently resides in Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center in Bedford, New Hampshire, where she just so happened to notice that one of the nurses – Robert O’Conner – drove a Torch Red C7 Corvette convertible, according to WMUR News. When her 100th birthday rolled around, it was obviously a special event worth celebrating, so the staff at the center asked her what she would like to do to mark the occasion. The answer, it seems, was obvious – take a spin in that stunning C7 Corvette convertible.

O’Conner was more than happy to oblige, but not before the center threw a bit celebration for Marian that included a tiara and a banner, the entire center staff, color guard, legion riders, and plenty of other veterans who came to help her make her special day a bit more special. But the main attraction, of course, was that spin around town in the Corvette drop top, which she apparently enjoyed more than just a little bit, according to O’Conner.

“The smiles – she’s still grinning from ear to ear,” he said. “And there’s a few teary eyes and it’s been a very special day for Marian.” O’Conner also noted that Marian’s family comes to visit her every day at the home, and every single day, she talks about that Corvette. Luckily, thanks to its gracious owner, she was able to finally experience it for herself.
