This amazing 1957 Corvette has lived with just one person since new, but now, it’s looking for a new home.

These days, finding a one owner vehicle of any kind from the 1950s isn’t exactly easy, largely due to the age of those vehicles at this point. It’s also somewhat unusual to see someone keep a car for decades for obvious reasons, whether they be a lack of storage options, the need to buy another vehicle, or the fact that well, we as humans just tend to be a bit fickle sometimes. Regardless, this 1957 Corvette is indeed a one-owner car that’s now looking for just its second home in nearly 70 years via Bring a Trailer.

This 1957 Corvette was purchased new at Don McCullagh, Inc. back in May of that same year, and the purchaser proceeded to keep it and drive it for some time before placing the car in long term storage for a grand total of 35 years. It recently emerged from that state of rest and obviously isn’t in perfect condition as a result, nor is it even running. However, when you’re talking about a one owner C1, those types of details don’t quite matter as much.

Those imperfections start on the outside with a few chips and scratches marring the black paint, a small crack in the fiberglass body, pitted chrome, and a missing front badge and antenna. The seller did add a hardtop at one point, along with snaps for a tonneau cover, but otherwise, pretty much everything here is stock, right down to the polished wheels covers with fake knock-offs.

The same goes for the red interior, which needs a bit of work itself, thanks to several tears in the seats, rips in the carpet, and discoloration in various spots. The shifter boot is also missing, but everything else seems to be present and accounted for, including the rear view mirror, radio, heater, and a set of replacement lap belts.

Power for this cool find comes from GM’s 283 cubic-inch V8, which is largely complete save for radiator hoses, a carburetor, and a battery. It’s mated to a replacement four-speed Borg Warner manual transmission, and there is some surface rust underneath, but otherwise, this is a relatively clean car that seems like a proper restoration candidate. However, it will be interesting to see if that’s the route the new owner decides to take, because this cool old barn find does have a pretty amazing story to tell as-is.
