Corvette + Hellcat = Best Garage Ever??? (Corvette Owners Also Collect MOPARs)

Corvette Fans Who Own a Hellcat

As it turns out, there are plenty of Corvette fans out there that also own a Hellcat of some kind, or at least like them.

In the automotive world, most enthusiasts have their specific preferences in terms of brand or model, and for the most part, they aren’t willing to budge on that loyalty. GM fans typically aren’t Ford or Mopar fans, at the very least, as brand loyalty typically involves defending your preferred badge with everything you have, and oftentimes, even going to far as to make fun of other brands. However, this isn’t always the case, and there are plenty of enthusiasts that actually like what other brands and automakers are doing. As we recently discovered in this thread present in the CorvetteForum forums, that applies to quite a few Corvette fans, too.

The thread actually began when one member asked if there was anyone that would actually prefer owning a Hellcat model over a C8 Corvette Z06, but shockingly enough, it soon turns out to be a bit of a boost for Mopar fans everywhere. Turns out, there are quite a few Corvette fans who are not only fond of the Hellcat Challenger, but some even own both of these kinds of cars. “I didn’t get a C8 Z06, waiting on a C8 ZR1, got my wife a 70th Anniversary, my 15th Corvette, great car, and I have a few Hellcats, it’s good to have some of each,” said hcvone.

“I have a 2022 Charger Hellcat Redeye,” added Tally Ho. “All the versatility of a sedan with plenty of performance. I have a 2017 Z06 and I am waiting for my allocation for a C8 Z06. The Z06 will out perform the Hellcat without any argument from me. The two cars are designed for different purposes. This is my second Charger Hellcat. The first was a 2017 I bought new and it served me well. I wanted the widebody and was able to order the new one at MSRP. It handles better than my previous Hellcat and with the additional 100 hp and 55 lb-ft of torque is definitely quicker. It’s still a 4,600 lb sedan compared to the lighter Z06 and would be no match on the track. I have driven the C8 Z06 on the track and it is a beast. I can’t wait to get mine.”

As one might imagine, there are exactly zero Corvette fans in this thread that would rather have a Hellcat of any kind over a C8 Z06, but it is still a bit surprising to see that so many appreciate these modern Mopar muscle cars for what they are – straight-line performers and tire burning machines that are guaranteed to put a smile on one’s face.

“The thrill of the straight line pull in both cars is probably comparable,” said smithers. “They are both fast cars, and the ‘no torque’ myth of the C8 Z06 is basically nonsense if you start in the right gear. I really prefer cars that can put their power down. I have no interest in a rolling burnout machine, but I can see why some people enjoy that. I like that I can just kick the gas at like 45 mph in my Z06 and it just hooks and goes while my buddy’s Hellcat is more likely to a crazy burnout in the same situation. But he loves his Hellcat and I love my Z06, so everyone is happy. If I ever end up with stupid amounts of money I’d probably have a Hellcat in the stable. I’ll have all kinds of different cars.”

This logic certainly makes sense, and contrary to popular belief, one can be a fan of more than one brand of automobile, of course. Regardless, we’re curious to hear what you think – would you or do you own a Mopar in addition to your Corvette, or any other brand, for that matter? If so, head over here and tell us about it!
